My artistic practice explores the relationship between cultural memory, ecosystems and Costa Rica's identity through painting, textile art and contemporary design.
Inspired extraordinary biodiversity, as well as by historical and heritage elements such as banknotes, coins, stamps, agricultural traditions and cultural symbols, I create illustrations and textile collections that reinterpret these narratives from a contemporary perspective. My work seeks to transform fragments of collective memory into visual and sensory experiences that connect the past, present and future.
Through painting, illustration and textile design, I explore how art can preserve stories, raise awareness of our natural heritage and foster new ways of connecting with the land. Each piece emerges from a process of research, observation and artistic creation that integrates visual narrative, design and cultural significance.
I am currently developing a line of signature textile art focused on luxury collectable pieces in natural silk, where art can be lived in, worn and experienced. My vision is to build a bridge between contemporary art, design, sustainability and textile innovation, positioning Costa Rica’s cultural and ecological richness within a global conversation on identity, heritage and artistic creation.
