A visit to the Eloy Alfaro Cart Factory led me to learn about the history of cartwheels, where I identified an antique wheel, faded with geometric designs, which I took to my canvas with the vibrant colours, geometric shapes that frame the Golden Indian. The Sarchí cart was declared a national symbol on 22 March 1988. Since November 25, 2005 our country has been celebrating the UNESCO declaration of the Boyero and the Carreta Tradition as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
