An original hand-painted work by Fabiola De Ford, inspired by the Costa Rican ₡50,000 banknote and the extraordinary richness of the Monteverde Cloud Forest. This composition celebrates one of Costa Rica’s most iconic ecosystems, where perpetual mist envelops a world of lush biodiversity.

The central focus is the majestic Morpho butterfly, renowned for the intense, iridescent violet-blue of its wings. Although that shimmering iridescence shifts with the light—making it impossible to capture fully in paint—the artwork seeks to convey the experience of watching them flutter delicately through the forest mist. Orchids, bromeliads, fungi, and epiphytic ferns complete this scene of abundance, evoking the balance, fragility, and magic of one of Costa Rica’s most cherished natural treasures.
